The Name of the Wind - Patrick Rothfuss
This is a brilliant tale of an older man “Kvothe” looking back and sharing the thrilling story of his life. I have read many books in my 30+ years and as of lately most books tend to be painfully predictable; this book is not everything but a humdrum.

The author takes you through the many different stages and sets of Kvothe’s life, some good, some bad, but all of it exceedingly entertaining. There is strong character building at its best in this book. Kvothe and the rest are charming, funny and filled with emotions that are seemingly real. I truly enjoyed being absorbed in this adventurous story.

Kindred - Octavia E. Butler
I give this a 4.5

This was a unique kind of story. I liked it. I wish she had explained why Dana was pulled by Rufus in the first place. I also would like a follow up to the five years lost by this white man from the 20th century placed in such a setting. But over all I was transported into history too.

Gabriel's Rapture - Sylvain Reynard
3.5

It was a slow start for me, but it ended well. Gabriel is a loving man, and I am exceedingly thankful to him for "Besame Mucho" by Cesaria Evora...Wow! What beautiful song.

I give it a 3.5

Standing alone, It's an okay book, Damien and Nikki are an alright couple, but I'm getting sooo tired of the same book different title craze. Be Original.

I already have a Gideon Cross and Christian Grey Alpha-male bazillionaire, enough already.

My Soul to Keep - Tananarive Due
What a great storyteller extraodinaire. She used many wonderful details such as history, art and a highly imaginative suspenseful plot that makes you want to hold on to the very end, and then afterwards, you being very glad that you did….I loved it.

What can I tell you about Kane “Tack ‘Allen……This is a real Man for you. Totally King of the Alpha-Males
This book is about Tyra and Tack’s love story from the Dream Man’ Series…I have only read Mystery Man’ and this one.
Tack is a rude dick in the beginning, arrogant, has a dirty mouth and he’s a total Badass, which makes him HOT!. But later in the story he shows you how smart, hardworking, loyal and sweet he really is, plus he was great with his kids and adored his woman, Which makes him Smokin' HOT!

Collide (Collide, #1) - Gail McHugh
Because I hated the ending this book gets a 2.5 otherwise based on the plot of the story, I would have given it a 3.5.

It’s the typical boy meets girl type of story. . Gavin sees Emily and falls head over feet in LOVE with her at first sight.

She’s being chased and wooed by a charming sexy man all throughout the book, who by the way matches her wit and character very well, but she chooses to have no backbone and stays with her boyfriend Dillon. Instead of being the typical naïve, I think the heroine is silly and stupid. She has a cheater and abuser for a boyfriend and she loves him for whatever reason….and to top it off, the book ends terrible.

Cliffhanger?!?....REALLY, after all of this, you give me a Cliffhanger?...WOW!

Sula - Toni Morrison
The story follows two childhood best friends set in the early to mid 1900’s.The book is written very well, I loved how Morrison gave you little snippets of the background of the each character. Some of it reminded me of my granddad’s “back in the day” stories he use to tell me about. It brought tears to eyes more than a few times. Good book, it's a must read.

Effortless - S.C. Stephens
What can I say? Kellan, Kellan, Kellan….I just love me some Kellan. What a charming, witty, loving character.

Kiera still is up and down but less annoying in this book. She did a lot of growing up in a year. With that said she was able to help her Kellan face and resolve some personal issues too. Their relationship was put through some test, because of their personal trust issues, but in the end…..Love is a powerful thing.

Tess of the d'Urbervilles - Thomas Hardy, Tim Dolin, Margaret R. Higonnet

This is another case of all beauty, no brains…Oh, Tess WTH?!?!

Is this really what was considered to be a strong woman then.WOW!…I’m sorry but in my opinion being prideful and mindless is not the same as having strength….She was a walking, talking, non-thinking tragedy.

Then this so called Loving Husband of hers, Angel put her on a pedestal and then kick it from underneath her.(This man changed his persona so fast and viciously, I was taken aback)...Another simpleton

Although, I hated how Alec got "acquainted" with Tess in the beginning, he was the best character in this ever- so –long tragic story. He allowed Tess to be Tess, he made fun of her, but he did not try to change her. After he was redeemed, a fat platter of injustice was served to him, but it was all for LOVE.

Good story, but what a sad and pethetic ending....

Thoughtless - S.C. Stephens
This book was soooo Hot! Mainly because of Kellan Kyle, the rock god!. That man is Mmm, mmm, good.

I felt like I was right along with them on an emotional rollercoaster. I felt the Fire and passion, I felt deceived, I was hurting and rooting for the happiness of each character….This was a good story

What I didn’t like about this book was Kiera and her back & forth nonsense. I was so annoyed with her character and the cheating, it was hard to believe that she was the heroine in this story…She sucked, but in the end... life happens just like that…(I know this to be true) She was young and selfish, you live & learn.

Moth To A Flame - Ashley Antoinette
3.5
The story hooked me and had me truly invested in the characters. I really liked the book for the most part; however, can the woman catch a break!!!…
I mean what a Freakin’ Disaster…Don’t lead me down such a Traaagic path only to end it in such a cruel way…I felt cheated.

There were so many chance's for this story to change for the better, one should've been taken....This book should teach you not to shelter your kids to much, because they'll end up idiots.
